Long term collaborator Graham Palmer shared the beautiful text of The twining treow with me last year, which I was delighted to set to music.

To quote Graham’s notes on the piece: “The twining treow has two trunks which twist and twine together like two lovers. In Old English, Treow means tree, forest, piece of wood but also trust, or a promise which has its roots in truth.”

Written for tenor and piano, The twining treow is a gentle, thoughtful pondering of the Treow and life. To purchase the score or listen to an excerpt (piano only, with a piano tenor line!) click here.
