In the middle of 2020, I began working on a new symphonic work. The natural world was waking up and taking over spaces previously dominated by humans, and pollution levels were dropping as a result of lockdowns. The sketches gathered became Awakening -an excerpt of which is below.
While I originally had plans for the rehearsal and workshopping of Awakening, these all changed as a result of the pandemic. As such this excerpt has been created using audio from Dorico. If you’re interested in performing it or would like to see a perusal score please get in touch.
Awakening was written in late 2020 and early 2021 and is approximately 6’30” long. I’m grateful to the Arts Council for supporting the creation of this work.
