Inspired by the constellation of the same name. The initial melody features seven notes, representing the seven main stars of the constellation and their position in the night sky. As the piece continues they grow more bold, embodying the hunter legend of Orion in Greek mythology.
The central section of the piece is inspired by the stars making up Orion’s shield, before returning to focus on Orion as a whole.
