Description

Short and snappy, Quintango is a duet based around – as its name suggests – a tango-like rhythm with five beats in the bar. The first couple of bars from the secondo pianist set the scene – rising scales and a chord made up of a cluster of seconds – before the catchy melody line begins. The piece dances around, melody moving between the players, as the tango grows and reaches its conclusion.

Quintango was written in July 2015 and is just over two minutes in length.

Performers should feel free to add pedalling where they feel it appropriate.

This copy of the score contains the full score and separate primo and secondo parts. A live recording will be added soon, but until then please contact Jenni if you’d like to hear Quintango before purchasing.
