About Tempestuous

With little warning, the tempestuous ostinato begins, with its unusual yet alluring seven beat cycle. It transforms and develops as the tempest journeys and gathers momentum.
The reflective, emotive andante comes as a shock after the constant momentum of the presto. It provides a
moment of calm and reflection in the eye of the storm, before the motion perpertuaa of the swirling presto
returns. It becomes more persistent and complex as the storm grows, and ultimately reaches the end of its
pathway.
No two tempests are identical, and through allowing performers to freely interpret stops, dynamics and
articulation (see notes for performers, below), it is envisaged that no two performances will be the same.
