About Moto Perpetuo

With little warning the ostinato begins, with its unusual yet alluring seven beat cycle. It transforms and develops as the piece journeys and gathers momentum.

The reflective, emotive andante comes as a shock after the constant momentum of the presto. It provides a moment of calm and reflection in the eye of the storm, before the motion perpertuo of the swirling presto returns.

Through allowing performers to freely interpret stops, dynamics and articulation (see notes for performers, below), it is envisaged that no two performances will be the same.
