The last week has been a busy one for my music.

Last Sunday I put Bells in the Rain (both piano and ‘cello versions) online as digital scores.

On Monday, Quangle Quadrille was broadcast on Radio 3. The interview can be heard on their website for 30 days after broadcast – it’s about 1h44 in! To hear the piece in its entirety without the interviews over the top head to the Making Music Soundcloud, or below:

On Saturday, the Aldworth Philharmonic Orchestra premiered Revolution. It was even mentioned on Radio 3 on Thursday morning! On the Saturday afternoon the orchestra put on an educational event, which helped educate people about climate change and gave them an insight into the piece! The event began with climate change experiments, before Dr Adrian Champion gave a talk about the causes of climate change. I then gave a short presentation about Revolution, the science behind the music and how the piece came together, before running an  open rehearsal where Andrew Taylor (the MD of the APO) and I gave the audience a taste of bits of hte piece!

The entire evening performance was wonderful, and Revolution was no exception. The orchestra really gave their all to the challenging piece, and I’m grateful for the amount of time and effort they put into learning it – particularly Andrew the MD, who had to work out how to conduct the rather crazy independent repetition! You can hear the recording below.
